Die-Hard Gamer's Post-E3 Coverage

E3 has come and gone and as expected there's a lot of talk about who won, who lost, what game won which throw away award, and of course how system X will dominate system Y. Instead of joining the circus, Die-Hard Gamer is simply going to post our own impressions and let you make the call. Granted we will throw in a little bias here and there - we wouldn't be press if we didn't do that (hehe...) - but giving away awards to an early demo or worse yet a trailer just doesn't sit well with us. Honestly, we don't think you really care too much for that either, so here are the hands-on impressions:

Headlines for May 13-21, 2006

Preview:  Gears of War
If we did the whole "game of the show" thing, Gears of War could very well be it. For those of you that discounted Gears of War as just a prettier version of Halo, you'll be surprised to find out just how different from Halo Gears of War actually is. WFROSE has the hands-on preview.

Preview:  Sonic Wild Fire
Pretty much out of nowhere, Sega surprised those lucky enough to play the Wii with a demo that was not only the prettiest Wii game around, but also might turn out to be the first exceptionally good Sonic title since the hedgehog's 16-bit days.

Feature:  PlayStation 3 Hands-On Impressions
The PlayStation 3 was probably the thing we wanted to get our hands on the most prior to E3, but how good was it in the end? Did the demos surpass what we've seen already on the Xbox 360 or simply meet them? And why does Sony have to steal everyone's ideas anyway...?

Feature:  PlayStation 3 Hands-On Impressions
Thanks in part to Nintendo's unusual choice in names, we didn't exactly go into E3 with high hopes for the Revolution... err... Wii. Those hopes could be deceiving and we ended up enjoying our time with the system. However, is the system really going to go toe to toe with the PS3 and Xbox 360?
